The Foundation of Consistent, Professional Service

At Magna Cleaning, consistency begins with clarity.

Our Default Level of Service is a clear, written description of the work our teams perform in every home if no customization has been applied. It represents our baseline level of professional service. It is a baseline, not a basic one. It reflects a comprehensive level of care shaped by the shared priorities of families who rely on recurring cleaning services.

In simple terms, if a team were assigned to your home without any customization, the Default Level of Service defines exactly what work would be performed.

This approach allows us to describe our service consistently and accurately, without relying on vague task lists that often lead to misunderstandings.

It serves as the foundation for every customized cleaning plan and ensures that expectations, execution, and quality remain aligned.

How the Default Level of Service Is Structured

Our standard is built on two components:

  • Default Scope: Areas included
  • Default Workflow: What is cleaned and how

Together, these establish a clear, consistent framework for professional care.

Default Scope: Areas Included

By default, we clean all finished interior living spaces with completed flooring, walls, ceilings, and permanent climate control.

Areas Excluded Unless Requested:

  • Outdoor areas and exterior surfaces
  • Unfinished interior spaces (garages, attics, unfinished basements, seasonal rooms)

Default Workflow: What Is Cleaned and How

The Default Workflow defines which surfaces are cleaned and how they are treated.

Washable Hard Surfaces

These are cleaned by dusting, wiping, washing, scrubbing, scrapping, polishing, and disinfecting as appropriate. Products, tools and methods are selected based on material and soil type.

Washable Hard surfaces include:

  • Hard floors
  • Fixtures and hardware
  • Mirrors and glass
  • Trim and moldings
  • Countertops and shelving
  • Furniture surfaces
  • Exterior surfaces of cabinets and appliances
  • Splash walls

Soft and Non-Washable Surfaces

These surfaces are not washed (no liquid or water-based product is used). Loose soil is removed by vacuuming, dusting, wiping or brushing, whichever is appropriate. Method is selected based on material and soil type.

Soft and Non-Washable surfaces include:

  • Fabrics
  • Carpets & Rugs
  • Upholstery
  • Curtains
  • Soft blinds
  • Shower liners
  • Painted Walls

Special Considerations

Walls and Splash Walls

Painted Drywall receives focused attention (spot cleaning) in high-touch areas. Cobwebs are removed throughout. For other material walls (wood panel, etc.), only Cobwebs are removed. Washing may be added to your plan. Splash walls are washed, wiped or scrubbed as appropriate.

Appliances and Enclosure Interiors

Interior spaces of appliances and enclosures (i.e. cabinets, drawers, hutches, trunks, etc.) are excluded, except:

  • Microwave
  • Trash cabinet

Cluttered Surfaces vs Non-Cluttered Surfaces

On cluttered surfaces, only exposed areas are cleaned. On non-cluttered surfaces, items and surfaces are fully cleaned.

If lifting and replacing items on cluttered surfaces is desired, this may be added to your plan.

Wall-Mounted Items

Accessible horizontal surfaces are dusted. Delicately attached items should be identified in advance.

Hard vs Soft Blinds

Hard material blinds (wood, hard plastic, etc.) will be washed or dusted as needed. Soft material blinds (aluminum, vinyl, etc.) will be lightly dusted only.

Window Glass and Tracks

Window glass and tracks (the part of the window sill that is exposed when the window sash is open) are excluded unless added.

Entry Door Glass and Tracks

The inside surface of the glass follows the washable hard surface workflow. The part of a sliding door track that is visible when the door is closed will be vacuumed. Washing the track can be added to your plan.

Grout and other porous surfaces

Shower grout is scrubbed. Other grout and porous materials receive general surface cleaning only.

Calking

Caulking cannot be restored through cleaning. Discoloration requires replacement.

Rough Surfaces

Rough surfaces in showers are scrubbed. Outside showers, they are vacuumed or brushed only.

Furniture and Decorative Accents

Hard furniture is cleaned appropriately. Upholstery, pillows and throw blankets are vacuumed, wiped or brushed based on material and soil, then neatly arranged.

Bedding

Beds are neatly arranged. Linen changes may be added.

Walk-in Closets

Floors are cleaned by default. Additional services may be added.

High Sentimental and Irreplaceable Decorative Items

We recommend stowing them away before service as precaution against damage.

Cleaning Products

We carry a line of cleaning products specifically selected to address every soil and surface type in a home. If you have a preference for a specific line of products, we can add working with your choice of products to your plan.

  • Appliance interiors (except microwave)
  • Cabinets and enclosures interiors
  • Window glass and tracks
  • Linen changes
  • Clothing care

  • Dishwashing
  • Grout restoration
